The Heart and Stomach of a King

"I may have the body of a weak and feeble woman, but I have the heart and stomach of a king." -- Elizabeth I

This collection was inspired by the Renaissance queens of France and England, Catherine de Medici, Elizabeth I, Mary Queen of Scots, Marguerite de Valois. The clothes are all black in honor of Diane de Poitiers, the pioneer of the black dress 400 years before Coco Chanel. As a young widow, Diane decided to continue to wear black for the rest of her life because she felt it was uniquely flattering. This collection is meant to honor all of these women, whose sheer force of personality defied their times and has made them unforgettable.
